Tuna Kabab Recipe

While canned tuna is extremely popular for preparing snacks like kebabs, croquettes etc…fresh tuna
is hardly experimented with. Using fresh tuna to prepare these delicious, light and very flavourful
kebabs…..an ideal starter for seafood lovers.

Ingredients:

1. 250-300gms fresh tuna; cut into chunks
2. 1 medium red onion; finely chopped
3. 1 medium garlic clove; grated
4. ½ inch ginger; grated
5. ¼ tsp turmeric powder
6. ½ tsp red chilli powder
7. ½ tsp coriander powder
8. ½ tsp cumin powder
9. Salt, to season
10. 2-3 sprigs coriander leaves; finely chopped (reserve some for garnish)
11. Lemon wedges; to serve
12. Vegetable oil

Method:

1. Heat 1-2 tbsp oil in a pan and add the chopped onions.
2. Sauté for a minute and then add the grated ginger and garlic. Continue to sauté till the onions
turn translucent.
3. Then add the spice powders and sauté on low heat for another 30 seconds. Take off heat and
allow to cool.
4. In a food processor, add the tuna pieces, onion mixture, half of the coriander leaves and salt to
season. Blitz to get a coarse mixture (ensure not to over blitz which will turn the mix pasty).
5. Wet your palms lightly and shape the tuna mix into small kebabs.
6. In a pan, heat enough oil and shallow fry the kebabs on both sides, in batches.
7. Serve warm garnished with coriander leaves and lemon wedges
