Prawn Cocktail Sliders Recipe

The classic prawn cocktail in a new avatar!

These sliders are a modern take on the classic prawn cocktail; perfect for entertaining especially with the festive season around the corner. With just a handful of ingredients, these are easy to prepare and assemble. Fun and delicious for the young and old alike.


  1. 8 slider buns
  2. 400 gms prawns (deshelled and deveined)
  3. 8 tbsp homemade mayonnaise (store-bought can also be used)
  4. 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  5. 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  6. A few drops of Tabasco or any hot sauce (depending on your heat preferences)
  7. 1 baby cos lettuce; leaves separated
  8. Zest of 1 lemon
  9. A few sprigs of dill; finely chopped


  1. Cook the cleaned prawns in salted boiling water; make sure that you do not overcook or the prawns develop a rubbery texture.
  2. In a bowl, add the mayonnaise, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon zest, Tabasco and half of the dill (finely chopped); mix well to combine.
  3. Cut the cooked prawns into small pieces (not too fine) and add it to the mayo mixture. Combine well, taste and add salt if necessary.
  4. Cut the slider buns in half; place the lettuce leaves on the lower half of each bun.
  5. Place a portion of the prawn mayo mixture on top of the lettuce and sprinkle with dill leaves.
  6. Assemble all the buns and serve immediately.

Note – If making for a party, prepare the prawn mixture ahead of time and refrigerate till necessary. Assemble only at time of serving.
